Green-Schools is an international environmental education programme, that promotes and acknowledges long-term, whole school action for the environment. It is a long-term programme that introduces participants (students, teachers, parents and the wider community) to the concept of an environmental management system.

Ratoath JNS was awarded its first Green Flag under the 'Litter and Waste' category in 2012.

Since then we have been delighted to be awarded the second flag 'Energy', the third flag ‘Water’ and the fourth

flag ‘Travel’.

Our Green School Commitee are busy raising awareness around the fifth theme ‘Biodiversity’ at the moment.
